Following consultation with the Community, Surrey Police, Woking Borough Council, New Vision Homes, Surrey Fire and Rescue, Neighborhood Watch, Barnabas Fresh Start CIC, RHS Wisley and Southern Co-Op have been working together to improve living conditions in Walton Court for residents and visitors.
Uniformed and plain clothes patrols have increased over the last few months in response to an uplift in drug related activity and violence however to solve this problem long term is more of a challenge.
You may have already seen some improvements made including lighting being replaced and upgraded. More work will be happening into the first week of April. You will see hedges being cut down and tree canopies lifted to allow better visibility. The wall backing onto Omega Road will be taken down to improve line of sight from the road and to prevent it from becoming an area to store rubbish. The garage doors and gates will be painted, helping to update the area. Washing lines will be repaired and old signage removed or cleaned.
On Saturday 6th April we will be holding a Community Event in the grounds of Walton Court. Please come along between 11am-2pm to find out how we can all work together to continue to improve your Community.
There will be lots of giveaways as well as planting and litter picking activities which will enter you into a free prize draw to win a basket of shopping from the Co-Op. We will also be running a children’s colouring competition with prizes and light refreshments will be available.
